Today is the day my American family, friends and clients celebrate “Independence Day” or “The Fourth of July.” I started thinking about my business this morning and how I’m able to totally disconnect for four days because I’ve automated a lot of my manual tasks this year using Infusionsoft.
Let’s face it. As entrepreneurs, we have many manual computer tasks which we repeat over and over again for NO GOOD REASON. We remain hostage to our computers because we need to send that critical email, reminder or document that desperately needs to go out, even on our days off. Using Infusionsoft, you can find freedom in your workdays and even lavishly take 4 days off as I am this week simply because you’ve automated your business. (This post doesn’t count as work because I LOVE to write!) I am personally declaring my own independence today from the following repetitive tasks:
- Manually sending the same follow up email to all of my web leads. Why waste time manually sending the same email to leads when they sign up for a quote on your site? (If at all for those of you who don’t follow up–you know who you are!) Why not automate the process and have a standard email that includes a video introduction and/or a friendly explanation about your business that goes out 15 or 30 minutes after they submit their information to you? How about preparing people for your first call and what they can do to get ready? Are there examples or testimonials of your work you’d like to send? Questions you’d like them to ponder? If you find yourself literally having to go back to your computer on your day off when someone sends you a request, you’re not independent.
- Sending the same documents out to clients day after day. If you have documents people need in order to work with you or documents they request over and over, you can send them out automatically on a date you choose or even in an exact time frame. Are you a lawyer that has forms people always need to fill out for a case? How about an accountant who needs information from clients to set up their accounting software? You can automatically send those documents using Infusionsoft.
- Sending Reminders. Do you manually send reminders to clients or colleagues if something isn’t done? What about reminders to yourself? You can set up reminders to “automagically” go out to you or your clients based on missed tasks, dates or actions. You can even use Infusionsoft to remind you about a client’s birthday so you can send them a greeting on their special day. Powerful independence.
- Manually Running an Online Course. If you’ve decided to put together an online course or series of webinars and you’re manually sending each week’s course email, you’re not independent. Also, if your course isn’t “evergreen” allowing people to start and stop anytime they want, your income from the course becomes dependent on a timeframe. With Infusionsoft, you can create an online course that literally runs itself. Once people buy the course on your site through the Infusionsoft ecommerce module, they can start immediately and you can time the modules to go out exactly when you want them to. No more remembering to send out Week #8 at 5 am on a Monday. The software can be programmed to do it for you every week no matter how long the course runs.
Not everything can be automated, but I’m sure you can look at your business today and think of 2 or 3 electronic communications you can put on auto-pilot, thus giving you more time back in your schedule.
If you’d like a demo of Infusionsoft and how it can automate your repetitive business tasks, click here. I have my site automatically set up and connected to Infusionsoft so I don’t have to sit by my computer and manually send you the link. I’ll also include an email which will automatically be sent to you to set up a time for us to talk live via phone. Reminders will be sent to both of us before the call. During all of this automation, you’ll find me doing some needlepoint, knitting or writing over the next few days. I’ll catch up with you on Monday when we can talk about helping you declare your own independence in your business. Happy 4th of July!
